Honestly. He looked good, we get it. Everyone is happy that we have a QB. No one will be happy if he ISN'T better than Blackwell/Grothe/Daniels, but it's absolutely silly to say he will be after just one game. Just too much time yet to pass. (That's a little pun to end this post on a lighthearted note.)

My point is that we have our new QB in the post-Daniels era, as mainly a reaction people saying we need to see if he can do the job.

 

We can build the offense around Mike; he's not a temp QB until we get somebody in there next year.

 

As far as him earning anything, no, he hasn't even won a game.

 

How good will he be? Who knows?

We've been a little spoiled with only a couple short dry spells at QB. Between Blackwell and Grothe and after BJ went down.

So it's natural for the fans to always be looking for the next great quarterback.

The people saying we need to see if he can do the job ARE the reaction ... to threads started like this one that are pre-anointing him as USF's all time greatest qb. He had a fine game, doing some very good things and doing some bad things, some he paid for, some he didn't. He's played the best of our qb's we've seen this year and had us in a position to win late in the game .... Let's hope he builds off this game.
