Probably because he sucks as much as every other QB on the roster.

When Bench plays the offense can actually get a first down. His interception on 3rd and 20... from what i could see, WRs were covered and he just threw it up knowing he needed a first.

 

Doesn't matter now, White era has begun. Unsure why he didn't just start if that was the case.

Bench was injured.  Had a Grade 2+ sprain just a few weeks ago.  Just this side of a tear.  There was hope that the extra 4 days would have him ready for Houston but that was doubtful as well.

Maybe you can say overall Bench is not considerably better, but he did have a better pocket presence in his earlier games than Eveld.  Not sure about today because I stopped paying attention after the half and left after the Tice fumble.

Offense looked a lot better with him in there ... and yes I realize that wouldn't take much ... but I actually felt like we had a chance to score a TD with him in there. Assume he wasn't 100% was the reason he didn't start ....
