Special Teams- A- (I want to see some smarter decisions on returns)

Overall: C

Stars go to Shaw, Lattimore, Cliett, Giddens, MacFarland, Sager, Lynch, and all of the freshman playing.

Coach stars go to Big Chuck for good defense, and Telly for what he is doing with all the RBs.

Mostly agree with this. Lets clarify though in an effort to prempt snarky comments ...this "grade" is relative to where we thought the team might be and not to all of CFB.

I would give special teams a B+ (still need a returner with take it to the house potential for an A) and add Chandler to the list. Its also a little difficult to rate the defense as they are out on the field for so long but the fight is back, LB play is so much better. Even though we have been burned in the secondary dare I say even that has improved...

Also we can add a little more detail to the offense:

Run game: A (Shaw=outstanding, Tice=Next A. Hall?!)

Pass game: F

Turnovers: F

Overall: F

Yes

I would disagree an A would be tough. This offense is mostly bad since we got a offense still learning a complex system, not a good qb, avg at best receivers and avg oline.

I would give the defense a c. They are slowly getting better. I just want to see improvment don't care about grade now...I am seeing improvements so that makes me happy.

Watching the Conneticutt game again I am a littel concerned about Secondary.  There were three dropped passes from Conn. that were touchdowns. This could have easily been a loss.  The ball bounced our way. Dont get me wrong I am happy with the wins but unless something miraculously happens with the pass rush with Lousiville look for a Miami type score.  Also the Louisville defense is much improved.

However he did do the impossible by beating Cincinnati and UCONN (which we had never won) without touchdowns. Something is changing.   While I agree those were hard losses would you rather have those than the two wins we just had? I dont think so. I see progression.
