Gosh, I miss USF being the subject of such unfounded rumors.

I like it better when we're not .... the way it was before the BE invite.

And as I recall, the name UCF was being bandied about heavily right before USF won the spot...

Back then UCF has no basketball arena, no on campus football stadium and no history of conference championships or BCS bowl trophies. As for TV markets, yes Tampa/St Pete is larger than Orlando/Daytona is but even that has closed. 200,000 people separate the two and five spots on the Neilsen rating chart, that used to 12 spots back before USF to the Big East. As you said, these people are smart, Orlando also has a renovated Citrus Bowl that will draw Championship type games that Tampa can't due to the Bucs playing there, Orlando has the hotel rooms, the international destination and a far superior airport. While all that may not mean much for a football game, it helps in other categories. Basically there is no difference between the two markets in terms of advantages, the schools will determine it. If USF thinks AAU status that they don't have will help, good luck. With the UCF medical city, the new tennis complex at the medical city and the far superior campus and all around location, there is not much, if anything USF has over UCF. Can you see what has changed? Edited by Karma

Your students used to have an excuse not to watch, now they just don't?

Did he really just say better airport? Some of the things in that list might be debatable, airport is not one of them.

I've been on UCF campus enough to know it sucks in comparison to the USF campus.  UCF just now getting a medical presence, the Moffit Center has already gained national prominence.  Airport isn't close to Tampa's either.

Don't be delusional.

I agree, asfor sports facilities, USF's facilities are far superior (obvious ignoring their OCS.. while shotty, they at least have one).

I will give that the UCF basketball arena on the outside does look nicer, but the inside is a whole different matter.

Also have to remember, while they are gaining their new medical complex.. our already (as you stated) established one is getting a huge adrenaline shot by becoming a part of Vinik's downtown complex plan.

Plus all of the other developments in that downtown plan overshadows those of Orlando.

As for other facilities (dorms, etc) USF has been already upgrading those, and is beginning a huge new development wave.

Those that are already completed are pretty sweet.

Most people that state USF's facilities are crap compared to UCF's are blind UCF'ers, or those who haven't visited either campus in a while.

Unless the entire USF campus moves to channelside, USF will always be at a disadvantage.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
