atticman Posted August 30, 2013 Group: Member Topic Count: 13 Content Count: 208 Reputation: 1 Days Won: 0 Joined: 03/05/2009 Share Posted August 30, 2013 He has been sacked twice now but that is mainly due to the lack of protection he is getting. This second/third line for SF is horrendous. When he does get some time he is doing well. Had a nice run on 3rd down to convert for the first and reaching for extra yardage. Just now threw for a 45ish yard TD. Pretty interesting since it hit the WR hands and the same WR caught the pop up and ran it in.

He's had about 3 series. No ints. Atleast 60 yards passing.

Most teams don't keep 3 qbs anymore Actually most NFL teams carry three QBs. The third QB is usually designated as the inactive QB. The inactive QB does not count against the 45 player game day roster, but if the first and second QB gets hurt they can play. However, if the inactive QB plays in a game the other QBs can not reenter the game. The third QB then never plays in a game but is there in case of injuries. The inactive QB receives their contract pay and can not be signed by any other team (unlike the practice squad). The third QB counts against the 53 man roster. So most NFL teams go into games with 2 QBs listed as active and the third as inactive. With no other QBs available on SF BJ made the third string inactive QB spot. This I think is good for BJ, gives him time to develop as a QB and he will run the scout team offense.
SpartanBull Posted August 30, 2013 Group: Member Topic Count: 3 Content Count: 172 Reputation: 3 Days Won: 0 Joined: 09/28/2005 Share Posted August 30, 2013 He should have hit a 35-40 yarder to Ausitn Collie for a TD. Beautiful ball, should have been caught, but defender got a tip on it as it hit Collies face.

BJ is looking good.
