Lynch, Giddins on Hendricks Watch List

Defensive ends Aaron Lynch and Ryne Giddins are two of only 23 players to make the Ted Hendricks Award preseason watch list.

Lynch, a sophomore, has also grabbed a spot on the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Preseason Watch List heading into his debut season with the Bulls. The 6-foot-6, 244-pounder sat out last season after transferring from Notre Dame, where he earned first-team Freshman All-America honors after posting 33 tackles, 5.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss in 12 games (six starts) as a true freshman in 2011.

Giddins, a redshirt senior, totaled nine sacks, 15 tackles for loss and 69 tackles the past two seasons while starting 19 of 24 games.

The Ted Hendricks Foundation will announce a mid-season watch list in November and the 2013 winner will be announced Dec. 11.

My prediction is Clowney wins every defensive award.

I remember I was ticked Selvie didn't win this in 07.

2 of 23 is impressive.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
