Aresco, a longtime former ESPN and CBS executive and the consummate salesman, is quick to point out that while the revenue side of the new television contracts is less than ideal, "in terms of exposure, it's everything we could want and more." This season, the last of its existing football deal, four of the league's nine opening-week games are relegated to ESPN3. In the new deal, all but eight games all season are guaranteed a spot on national television.

By my count we have dozen+ games on ESPN3 and only a few actually on national television.

ESPN3 is national television.  This is 2013, the world has changed.

Are you counting games in the 2013 season...that is considered the old deal and Aresco is addressing the new deal, right?

I agree 100% but, ESPN3 is laggy as hell and when it chokes, it becomes unwatchable. And, I have a fast internet connection and an extremely fast gaming computer that I built. ESPN3 is a last resort for me and for most people.

Espn3 is an unfinished product. Lots of people can't get it. Everybody with cable gets ESPN.

But again, ESPN is not committed on our success.

I'll know espn3 is good when SEC games are broadcast live on it.

When Aresco said "media exposure" I think what he meant was ESPN3.... or at least I know this is what ESPN had in mind all along.

It's exactly what I was expecting and I am not at all surprised.

Different problem here, as my isp doesn't offer access at all, but there's a similar potential solution...

If anybody's willing to "explain" their ability to access ESPN3 while away from their home isp's network, that would enable the rest of us to do so as well. Stuff like this would be better done thru PM's than thru open forum posts, though.

PM me if you're willing.

Thanks!

The problem I have with ESPN 3 is the video quality is decent at best also I would rather have broadcast journalism students as commentators than the morons ESPN has used in the past.  One game, one of them kept calling us UCF!!  I have FIOS internet and an almost brand new macbook pro.  What else can I do to help out the quality?
