Right now, the battle for starting at USF is all even. It could very well be Mike White if he does well before the season begins. And I think "doing well" enough to start is not going to take much, not like what Grothe and B.J. had to do. Do we have someone who can step up right now? I think that's at 50%. If Bench comes in, it certainly gives our team another option. I think we'd be at 75%. We don't have a Grothe or a B.J. Daniels, with our without Bench. But I'd sleep better if Bench is on the roster. IMO Bench is the stater AND RED SHIRT WHITE get him the time to develop ..put on weight..perfect his game..a win win for him... Let Floyd and Eveld be backups... White will have two years as a starter...after bench leaves. plenty of time to highlight his abilities and get our offense running smoothly...back to the old 40 points per game..... .We could actually have qualified backups at QB.. All three factors = one star of points. Now, the question will be how he adjusts to the coaching and the playbook at USF. Of course, we have to see if he signs with us. I move the chance up to 80% that he signs with USF.
