I'm ashamed of student government for this

This is a list of traditions. Some are more iconic than others, but they are unique things associated with that school, done every season.

-on-campus football stadium

-keep beating UCF in all football games

-get NCAA status for the fencing and lacrosse teams

-real greek houses

-electric cars dont have to pay for parking permits, hybrids get discounted rates

-put awnings over motorcycle parking areas

-stop charging for cups of water at the library starbucks

-stock the lakes on campus so students can fish in them

 

I think these are pretty good ideas too

None of this is tradition.

I know I am just poking fun at the entire idea of this, as in getting something you want by going about it the entirely wrong way.

Some traditions are started because members of a group start doing something, like the band and it catches on. If you looked through that list of traditions, one was cowbells. So if I bring a cowbell to a game, it probably won't catch on. If students vote on bringing cowbells to games and start doing it, it becomes tradition. They are making it easier for a good idea to become a tradition by exposing it to the student body. Nothing wrong with it at all IMO.

This. I'm not Greek at all, but I know it's a huge part of college and ours are a complete joke.

 

But, who gives a **** about our fencing team? No offense to anyone on it though.

The Bullbackers group was initially formed to address stuff like this- support the new team, build interest and tradition. Ran into a number of things.

I applaud anyone or group giving of their time to make it better.

The war flamingo is completely dead. TSA will not allow them into the stadium because "they are projectiles."
