I'm ashamed of student government for this

What a joke! Traditions are not made by brainstorming them and sending them to a ballot!

 

PATHETIC!

 

I immediately sent my tradition idea for them to stop this right now and never do it again because it is a joke.

 

What are some other ideas to send them?

-on-campus football stadium

-keep beating UCF in all football games

-get NCAA status for the fencing and lacrosse teams

-real greek houses

-electric cars dont have to pay for parking permits, hybrids get discounted rates

-put awnings over motorcycle parking areas

-stop charging for cups of water at the library starbucks

-stock the lakes on campus so students can fish in them

 

I think these are pretty good ideas too

Nothing wrong with a proactive student government. I'm glad they're trying to start traditions and get people involved in the process.

This is not how you do it. If they wanted to start an actual tradition they would get behind something that students are already doing.

Many traditions at colleges are decades old and have some funny story behind them, like the Stanford Axe. And some of the actions that were the foundation, like that one, would lead to criminal prosecution today. This actually is a good idea because many of us USF alumni want there to be some tradition associated with the school. Being that no one, including you apparently and I, that has spent time at USF has created anything that has become tradition.  So this is a chance to gather ideas and rally support behind something that over time will become tradition.

 

What's pathetic is that USF really doesn't have anything that stands out as tradition such as  a rivalry game with a reward that the victor holds on to until the next meeting or something unique done at games like getting the keys out or playing a song between quarters where everyone does something like 'Jump Around' at Northwestern. Its more like a kick in the butt to get some tradition going.

I know I am just poking fun at the entire idea of this, as in getting something you want by going about it the entirely wrong way.
