Dojo made the right move coming out early. His stock was hot with some great wins at the end of the season. He got a guaranteed contract. Who knows what would of happen if he stayed, at the time it was our best big east season. I think his issue is he advertised himself as a combo guard (both pg/sg) when he really is just a Sg. This really helped his draft stock with the versatility but the mavericks called his bluff and his limited play has been at pg (not a natural position for him). Carlisle has done poorly trying to work him in. If he get s picked up by another I would not be surprised if he does better unless he's stuck playing pg.

Well said. People beat him up for that decision, but he not only lasted 2 1/2 years in the NBA, he also got a ring.

I think me made a great decision. Now, he can do all the non-basketball stuff and still have all that money, that is if he doesn't continue with pro ball. It's not like he's 90 years old!

Assuming he is smart and does not piss away his cash.

Not picking on Dojo with this comment, but many athletes in general. 1 contract is enough to live a great lifestyle for the rest of your life, if you don't blow your money on stupid things (or people who want to take from you and latch on).

I have a solution for that, half of every contract is paid out as a lifetime annuity. If you sign a $5 million dollar deal, you get $2.5 and the other $2.5 is used to buy a lifetime annuity .. which will pay you something like $2,500 a month for the rest of your life ..... now I know no athletes will agree to my idea, but I hate to hear about a young person who comes into a lot of money and winds up broke 10 years later (once again, not saying anything about DoJo, just speaking in general).
