He cheerfully  says I" have 50% success."..His friend ..replies "Thats great.."

If you didn't suffer any damages you don't deserve a dime.

If you are joining the Big East you didn't suffer any damages, you actually are getting more than before.

If you were an existing Big East member you suffered huge damages.... millions in revenue lost.

This should be pretty cut and dry, these new members are the ones being greedy.

Attorney fees for the NBE are being reported as $15 million, so that comes right off the top. And the money coming in is going to be paid over years.

To issue a $15M bill for this result takes brass balls. The law firm's entry agreements were so violation, BE schools are about to sue EACH OTHER.

This issue should have been waived when schools joined.

The $15MM number is such crappola. Firms never sued anyone, never defended a suit, never took depositions and never went to court. That number is pure pie-n-da-sky NJ blogfantasy, nothing else.

The only thing that scares me is if the incoming schools threaten to withdraw from the American 12 and form their own conference. The remaining money would go back over to the basketball schools, which is something we can't let  happen. That gives the incoming schools some leverage to ask and expect more than a 90/10 split.

Where did you get that? No one is saying that.

Just my opinion of something they could potentially use as leverage if they want a case for more of the pot than 90/10 split. It is a fact that the money would go to the basketball schools if the new members leave (I don't think they are going anywhere). If I were them, I'd be thinking of everything possible. This is a message board right? Can people post opinions here?

Fact? :wtf:

Many lawyers only know how to divide by 3.

Actually, it's now being widely reported.
