With William Crest committing at WVU, I would imagine that they are out of the Trickett sweepstakes entirely. Not coincidental that he committed last Friday either. WVU must have been convinced CT wasn't coming and accepted the commit. They already had 2 princes in waiting , adding a 3rd during his visit really couldn't have enhanced their chances. Auburn doesn't really believe that they have a shot. This one is going to go our direction. Better get prepped for the Clint Trickett era at USF.

I'm pretty confident a true freshman coming in his senior year would have no barring at all on Clint's Decision.

Does the name Jameis Winston ring a bell?

If this were Clint's senior year and Winston was showing up, Bull Martin is exactly right. Seeing as how Winston redshirted his freshman year and would have had no barring at all on Clint's playing time and/or decision.

However, in reality it was a redshirt freshman and a junior. Which is not the same scenario at all.

Ok, right. I guess every sportswriter who has written about this is wrong and of course you are correct.

Exactly what JT just said.  It's not the same situation.

Crest would be coming in his true freshmen year at WVU during Clint's senior year.  As long as Clint was playing well enough, they would RS Crest and keep him for 5 years.

Winston already used his RS year.

No, I'm just pointing out that what you said is 100% wrong. I'm quite sure playing time is a factor in him leaving, but he's not a senior and Winston is a not a true freshman. Therefore, CT is not a senior worried about an incoming true freshman. Your example was wrong. Quit being a ***** and accept it.

Exactly.  How are these two situations even remotely the same?  WVU's new commit won't even be on campus this year.

WVU no longer on short list

QB Clint Trickett nearing a decision between #Auburn & #USF in next couple of days, next Wednesday being the latest per @joshnewberg247

Guess he wasn't filling out an application at WVU last Friday

Wow, that's interesting. If its between Auburn and USF you have to like our chances, no?

Not fumbling a snap would be a huge upgrade.  I am crossing my foam USF fingers.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
