1. Tamiami, the Glazers don't own the stadium, we tax payers do.

2. The Community Investment Tax has been used for many projects that help the general community. It has helped build roads including the cue area at schools which directly affects the health and welfare of the children of Hillsborough County, sidewalks, yes it has helped purchase the land and buld fire stations and many other community investments.

3. I personally voted for it because it's a tax that I can control. The bottom line, was that the local governments were going to find a way to keep the team.

 

Yeah, I know the Glazers don't own the stadium. Sorry, I probably could've worded it better so it could be more clear. I meant "ownership" as in team ownership, not stadium ownership. The Glazers used the leverage of threatening to move the Bucs so local government feared that would be more costly and therefore gave them the favorable deal.

They're reviled in Manchester, UK for their ownership of ManU. The locals there have tried very similar tactics but to no avail. I agree with Trip, you can't humiliate them when they're making all the money they are from both franchises...especially ManU...which I believe now has the highest valuation of any sports franchise in the world.
