Make no mistake about this hire-- Weiner was brought in ONLY for recruiting. the "WR coach" is simply for semantics to get him on staff.

it's a great move for Weiner. the reasons why he probably left for USF:

1. even in this "WR coach" position, he probably makes more money than h.s.

2. he doesn't have to move and uproot his family

3. he makes in-roads for a coaching career in college football

4. he's done everything he can at the h.s. level (4 state titles in 9 years!!)

good for him and good for us!! but honestly, i can see him using usf as a stepping stone for another college coaching job.

OMG, here we go again! I hope he is using us as a stepping stone, that means he wishes to be successful and advance in his career.

+1

Can't wait until we are known as THE place to come because you'll soon be moving on to a great promotion!

Great hire. You build a good program by locking down the local highschools. It's not that we're going to now get every 5 star kid, bc we won't. Bama, FSU, UF etc. is going to "get theirs". However, there are TONS of 4-5 star studs that get picked off here and there and when they all add up, it's more than we could even take! So if we can grab a majority of those kids, we'll be on our way to doing something special here. This is a step in the right direction.

Your original post reads as if being a stepping stone is a bad thing and that he should want to be a WR coach at USF for the rest of his career.

Usf is really erecting quite the staff. First a Willie and now a Weiner! Throw a coach Testies in there for all I care, as long as we win.
