Dana and that article are full of cr@p. One thing to consider is that we watch most games our team plays and know last year wasnt a fluke. Others who dont watch the team as closely associate USF basketball as the doormat it has been for many years, that perception will take time to change. There are a lot of opportunities to get big wins in our conference schedule. If USF whiffs on all or most of those then we dont change the perception. Last year the big east record was chalked up to a weak schedule. This year we have to win half of the games against top 25 team in conference, IMO.

No one is allowed to have an opinion. If it's anti USF its clearly spinning??

We've looked like crap against some not so Big East caliber teams. Time to put up or shut up.

Funny you say that in the face of comments others have brought up above. I realize it's your nature to be a contrarian but it's been demonstrated reasonably well on this thread that the opinion doesn't hold up on its own.

I actually hope this continues for a few years, it's helped our football team catch some teams off guard. So that being said....

USF is the doormat baby! We won't win 5 games this year! Don't worry about preparing for us!

We certainly have looked bad in some games, as we did last season. We are beginning to play a bit better, which is what we did last season as well.

Now the fun begins.

article was also posted on december 30th, just after the george mason win. i'd suspect she'd move it up slightly after our revenge win over ucf. odds of beating syracuse are low, but if we can keep it close and frustrate them like we did last year, we won't be overlooked. we should be a #10/#11 team right now...not #14.

We always "look bad", that's a product of Stan's game plan. We play to keep the score down and eat the clock and that usually makes for close ugly games no matter the opponent. We will sway no critics with our style of play, but we will sway the selction committee if we win in conference.

For tourney consideration we need 11 Big East wins (and maybe 1 or 2 in the BET) don't see it happening right now. We should make the NIT with no problem. 2 or 3 seed.

First goal should be to hold serve at home. That would rack up 9 wins including Louisville, Syracuse, Georgetown, UConn and Notre Dame. Will it be enough to get 18 wins? Who knows. But .500 in the Big East will certainly get our name into the discussion.

Western Michigan's RPI doesn't mean anything. Once they get into conference play their opponent win % and Opponent of Opponent Win % (accounting for nearly 75% of RPI calculations) is going to plummet. They are not going to finish the season in the top 100. It's a bad loss or at least it will be.

True. But by that same logic, isn't it too early to call it a bad loss? WMU has a huge boost to their RPI because of us as well as playing Michigan and NC State. We'll see if they are a bad or good team in a month. But for our sake, lets hope they run the table and win the MAC.

She's entitled to her opinion. Just like we're entitled to point out how foolish it it. Several people have pointed out her faults. We looked like crap in a lot of our games last year but still made the tournament. Remember everyone saying "We win ugly"? Its the fact that she simply dismisses us based on our style of play which we won with last year.

Rudd has been all over SC lately and AC has been serving up that dunk all year. Didnt see alot of that last year. That flash is nice to offset ugly.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
