Woulard is Skips saving grace. We need DB's and a pass rush more than we need a QB at this point. We should have taken a 3 star QB every year skip was here. Brion Carnes should have been the first (not to mention we might have gotten Ace Sanders with him). Too pile on to Skip's inept QB recruiting. We had a guy that could have probably helped immensely with inroads at Armwood and the surrounding area that Skip flat out refused to give a QB shot to in Josh Grady. Eventually Grady went to Vandy b/c they gave him a shot at QB and guess what? Grady is a WR at Vandy. Skip is a complete fool to not give Grady a legit shot at QB and transition him to Safety after his redshirt year. i've wondered if Grady would have signed here if Skip would have just given him a shot at QB. What would it have hurt? Skip took the high road and was honest with the young man that we wouldn't be a QB at USF. Vandy gave him a shot at QB knowing full well they wanted him at WR. It's a win-win situation that Skip totally screwed up at. So you bring Grady in at QB. What's the worst that can happen? He actually makes a successful back-up QB with a chance to play QB down the line; or he gets converted to where you want him and he slides in at safety a year later. Looking at the team right now we can use both a QB and DB's. It's just another poor decision by Skip.

How many did we sign before Holtz? Kinnan was one of the finalists along with Leavitt for the head coaching position here ... Doubt if being spurned for the job was a real bridge builder between us. bulliever78 Posted November 27, 2012 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 13 Reputation: 1 Days Won: 0 Joined: 11/17/2012 Share Posted November 27, 2012 Injuries now are a legitimate excuse. They weren't before...but on top of everything else that could go wrong, we're hurting at every position. No injury more so than BJ's injury. What's remarkable is that this is of course what USF would look like without BJ....like a garbage....without 70-80% of the offense in there...he ran the entire show, everything ran through him. (Going into the last 2 years, it's been said by everyone, "Everything is on the shoulders of BJ...the team goes as BJ goes." Why did our coaches keep pileing more stuff on him, when he was incapable of carrying what was given him before? Moot point now...so nevermind.) Coaching and general team mindset have been the greatest downfall this year though, no doubt. Coaching mistakes IN GAMES, and lack of coaching players to actually improve during practices have cost us numerous games. What's sad is that I can't just say that we lose because of bad coaching...we are also losing because our team just sucks. I really want them to be great and just have them being misguided by the coaching staff...but they're just not all that good either. Just as an example: For 2 year now, i've been talking up our wide receivers, how deep they are...how talented they are.... But that's it. they're talented...but not good receivers. They don't come back to help a QB under pressure, they don't fight for the ball in the air, they don't play defense to break up interceptions, they go down too easily. (BTW, I still put a lot of this on coaching or lack of it during the week.)

Never liked him, never will! I was a Leavitt guy that took heat when many on here wanted him gone. I knew we were good because Leavitt willed them to be that way in the early years. I thought we would be horrible under Holtz and then we went to Meineke and beat a decent Clemson team and I thought, well, maybe this will work out in spite of my inklings. Then the past two years happened and I have been slapped back into reality. Reality sucks sometimes.

Me too and all of his excuses. Other teams play in low humidity, have injuries, have the same shape ball, and win more than 3 games in 1 season. At least with Leavitt we went to bowl games
