Orange might be down a RB vs. USF

Posted by John Taylor on October 26, 2012, 11:46 AM EDT

AP

Coming off a game in which he saw his most significant action of the season, Ashton Broyld could find himself on the sidelines for this weekend’s game.

Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone acknowledged Thursday that the running back has not participated in practice this week due to an unspecified injury. The injury, which Marrone declined to discuss in any detail, will likely preclude the freshman from taking the field against USF, although the coach was not quite prepared to take that step just yet.

“We still haven’t made a decision yet on him,†Marrone said according to the Syracuse Post-Standard.

Broyld is currently third on the team in rushing with 154 yards.

Oh crap!!

That means they may end up in a bunch of 3rd and long situations?

... automatic first down.

He is 3rd on the team in rushing, so I do not see this impacting the game much. That is, unless their 1st & 2nd leading rushers are out of the game; I could see a headline with that.

I don't think it makes much of a difference. Nassib has already had a couple of games where they just let him throw until his arm fell off. He had one game where he threw the ball 66 times.

I doubt he will even need to throw that many times.

They could not dress a RB and still go 30-35 passing for 375.
