We might have missed out on one of our best BB seasons ever.

Not everyone wanted him fired. The season after one of the best seasons in USF basketball history

Not everybody here wanted Heath fired. In fact, one year after a 20-win season and USF's first postseason birth in years, a pretty sizable portion of people were sane enough to realize that firing Heath would have been dumb as hell.

The situation with Holtz, however, is near unanimous. I don't see very many people saying Holtz should keep his job.

Two completely different situations. Heath was brought in to rebuild the program. He showed progress the first couple of years.

Holtz was at the helm when the program tanked.

Heath had some bad years...a year where his players and style were far from the same page.

Might be one of the best turnarounds I have seen. Still would like to see him run a better offense.

Who says it can't happen with skip.?

Heath didn't save usf basketball because there never has been usf basketball. He could be possibly inventing it.

The teams in the early 90's were pretty good.

CR there was a very small minority of people calling for Heaths departure. I look back at the "darkside" days where I joined a very vocal and medium sized group of "darksiders" that wanted McCullum gone. I left this board for a couple of years because of my darkside stance. The guy buried our program for years and most on hear berated anyone calling for his job. They called us racists, idiots, and many other things. So.......the moral of the story is that a small majority are usually ignored but when it becomes a much larger group, and in this case a caucophony of the online community, maybe the fans are more right than the few who just don't want to rock the boat because it would be difficult.

I can only really go 1997-present but I've heard they were good. Still don't think they were known. I never heard anything about usf bball until I attended.

Times are changing

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
