Dan McCarney. He has some ties and a realistic shot that he'd come back. He did some good stuff with our D line and can recruit Florida

I don't hate the idea

At least his old Iowa state teams were competitive. For Iowa state anyways. I could live with that as that year he was here the DL looked pretty good.

Jay Gruden: (signed a 3 year $1.2M/yr contract with the Bengels in 2012)

Mike Bobo: ($300K)

http://onlineathens....alary-structure

Jim Tressel (Have to wait another 3 years until you touch this guy)

Bud Foster (Interviewed for Pitt job in 2011, makes about $471K / year)

Butch Davis: (Not currently Coaching)

Phillip Fulmer (Not Currently Coaching)

If USF goes on the search this year they will be competing with

  1. Auburn

  2. Arkansas

  3. Kentucky

Also whoever is chosen will need to bring in a staff that is able to hit the ground running.

You also need a guy who can make chicken out of chickenshit, get by with less resources. Guy has to be a relentless recruiter, not back down from anyone on the recruiting trail or on the field. To me that rules out guys like Fulmer as I think this wild be a retirement package for him.

I like Bobo.

He has SEC ties, and should be able to hire a staff. I'd like to see him bring in Robert Edwards as a RB coach too. (he's coaching HS, tough knee injury killed his career, but, he was a gifted RB)

Bobo has also done well with Murray and Stafford, he was a QB, seems to be a solid coach. Just have some concern about an offensive minded guy. I want our defense back.

Instead of naming names it would be beneficial to list the attributes of the coach and what they would need to do as head football coach besides just winning games.

You guys are dreamin' if you think USF

1. Is looking for a new coach

2. Will fire Skip and buyout his contract this year.
