Quick question for you recruiting guys...IF CWT can be the recruiter we think he can be, would it be better to max out schollies this class or hold a few back so we have more next season when he has more time on the trail?

You only get 25 per class whether you use them or not. Sometimes like last year you get a small class in because of the amount of returning seniors. I believe we will have 25 available next year too so I don't think he needs to hold any back. It's smart to have the guys he recruits this year get more experience in college next year and be that much better than holding onto any empty spots IMO

Can someone explain then why some schools have more than 25 commits? Texas A&M currently has 34 commits I believe.

Some schools take excess commits with the thinking some will switch, not be eligible, lose players to transfer or the draft. Also sometimes they could be preferred walk ons or grey shirted

I think the bottom line is that they can only have 25 new scholarship players in for the following fall season .... or something like that.

I hate the practice of taking more commits than you will ultimately accept. It gives players the runaround, and should be outlawed.

doesn't it depend on how many commits you have year from year, like if we only had 23 commits last year, we could have the 25 for this year and the 2 unused from last year?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.
