He is looking to establish himself at a well-established school. "Somebody that's committed to winning championships and being the best that they can be, with a chance to compete in a conference that's nationally recognized. I'm not going to go walk into a door somewhere that you have no chance to be successful." http://sports.espn.g...tory?id=4405995 okay with the exception of the nationally recognized conference but at least the pressure would not be as bad as the SEC. We'll accept competitive loses. Edited October 1, 2012 by Blackice12

Certainly South Florida fits that profile. Coach Leavitt, the alumni and the administration have done a tremendous job getting it to the point where it is. There’s probably another level they can get to. “The recruiting base, the facilities as I understand them they’ve done a great job with that. My wife is from St. Pete. We have lots of friends in the area. I’ve recruited in Florida for a long time. There’s some positive things about the program.†http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_college/2010/01/is-phillip-fulmer-interested-in-usf.html#more-3964

Do we need to throw even more money at the problem to fix a bad hire the first time around? About the only thing he has going for him is that he's old enough that he might stick around for awhile and not just use as a stepping stone.
