Fulmer also believes he will coach again in the future. He is looking to establish himself at a well-established school. "Somebody that's committed to winning championships and being the best that they can be, with a chance to compete in a conference that's nationally recognized. I'm not going to go walk into a door somewhere that you have no chance to be successful."

okay with the exception of the nationally recognized conference but at least the pressure would not be as bad as the SEC. We'll accept competitive loses.

“I made a significant point when I got out of coaching that I’m looking for a program that’s committed to winning and being the best they can be. Certainly South Florida fits that profile. Coach Leavitt, the alumni and the administration have done a tremendous job getting it to the point where it is. There’s probably another level they can get to.

“The recruiting base, the facilities as I understand them they’ve done a great job with that. My wife is from St. Pete. We have lots of friends in the area. I’ve recruited in Florida for a long time. There’s some positive things about the program.â€

I was told by somebody with sources that Fulmer was working on a deal with school and had a coaching staff in place ready to move in but something fell apart and Holtz was hired...have no way of proving that but was told about it a couple days before Skip was hired

I have to believe Fulmer wouldn't come cheap. Do we need to throw even more money at the problem to fix a bad hire the first time around? About the only thing he has going for him is that he's old enough that he might stick around for awhile and not just use as a stepping stone.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
