Great story Greg, this really makes me look forward to the season.

TAMPA — It may seem like just another play in an inconsequential game, but when Todd Chandler takes the field in USF's football opener Sept. 1 against Chattanooga, it will be a moment nearly three years in the making.

"I can't wait. If it's the last play of the game, I'm just so excited, I might just break down and cry right there," said Chandler, a sophomore defensive tackle from Miami's Liberty City neighborhood who last played at Miami Northwestern High in 2009.

By the way, read more over on Tampabay.com to support Greg.

Question: Since Chandler did not qualify last year does he lose a season of eligibility because of it? So, he redshirted 1st gives him four more playing. If he does, then he will only have 3 years left of playing. I think the guy is going to be a terror on defense this year.

Great write up.

No game is inconsequential. We need all the wins!

Yeah, you have 5 years to play 4. So he has 3 more years.

Chandler redshirted in 2010, so he had to burn a year when he was ineligible last year. Redshirt sophomore this fall, so three years left. Thanks much for the kind words.
