Greg Couch

@gregcouch

ESPN says Alex Collins' Mom stole letter of intent so he couldn't sign

w/Arkansas. If he can't run her down, he should be in Big 10 anyway

:roflmao:

You'd think they'd have sorted out their differences by now...

I thought I remembered someone saying on this board a while ago that NCAA bylaws required that ALL recruits have a guardian sign the LOI regardless of whether they are over 18 or not.  Not sure what the real answer is there, but maybe Alex and his mom can compromise on a school still "away" from home but in the same state and within driving distance for games......

If only we could push USF to the mom. I wonder if she'd take it. Who knows if FSU is close enough for her. Florida might be.

This is a sign that he needs to move out. I don't know what drove her to try and prevent him from leaving, it seems so irrational. Does he have younger siblings she needs help with or something? Maybe she is feeling abandoned? I wonder what her reason is. I hope they work it out.

Maybe she is just a really big USF fan.

If we set up limo service from Miami????? Maybe got mom a job like ND did for Aaron Lynch?  Maybe hook him up and Mama won't be so important? Would hate to be at that dinner table tonite.

If this was the Mad Cow, I'd post a link to the Time Magazine cover photo from May last year...

The articles I'm seeing say that the family hopes he'll reconsider Miami because it's convenient for her to go see games and be closer to home. I can understand the second reason, the first reason is a little, well weaker. I realize that's a big deal (and part of why we're trying to build the Tampa fence), but if the kid wants to go away, he should go out of town or state. It's still his life, not hers.
