I don't see what is so crazy about the pick. Geno is a stud and could very easily have a bigger year than Jones. WVU did hang 70 on a decent Clemson team last season.

I'm not a big Geno Smith believer but against the Big 12 stalwart defenses he may ring up 100 per game.

geno smith lost to 7-5 UofL and got blown out by 5-7 syracuse last year.

he also beat pitt by 1 and cincy by 3 on a blocked field goal. not to mention the debacle that was the usf game.

all their close games went their way last year. all of ours went against us. it had more to do with coaching and defense than it did with BJ or Geno.

I don't think that will be the first thing people think. It'll be more like this:

a) the Big East was a top heavy conference

B) WVU was the only good team and the BE was holding them back

c) WVU made the Big East better just by being there

d) all of the above.

Big East won't get ANY credit if WVU was to win a B12 title.

I don't think that will be the first thing people think. It'll be more like this:

a) the Big East was a top heavy conference

B) WVU was the only good team and the BE was holding them back

c) WVU made the Big East better just by being there

d) all of the above.

Big East won't get ANY credit if WVU was to win a B12 title.

what happens if they embarrass themselves next year(I think it's more likely as the big 12 is a top 2 conference)?

they will claim they dominated the BE last year(which they didn't - not even close) and that it's an indication of how weak the conference is.
