Regardless of what happens at the college world series, did softball just complete the best season of any sport at usf ever? I'm excluding the swimming team since the sport is now defunct....

anyone want to make an argument for men's soccer this year or maybe even men's basketball this year.....I think the argument is moot and the softball team has the title but id like to hear all your thoughts....even if you agree there is no argument....

My opinion is that softball's accomplishment getting into the WCWS is the best accomplishment by any USF sports team.

Just shows how unappreciated soccer is. No offense, I love baseball, softball, football, basketball, etc. But they can't compare to the level of skill and technique that soccer requires and we have one of the best teams in the country. Basketball comes second IMHO. But then again, NCAA soccer/MLS is a joke.

Elite 8 appearance in soccer is pretty freakin good. The title college world series always sounds better than Elite 8, but I will defer my opinion until the end of the week.

I say, as far as success goes Basketball was the biggest, because so many people pay attention to the sport and it is good exposure for the school...I get ribbed on when I am watching college softball (I still watch it anyways of course).

You can factor in things like basketball is more important (which it is), etc, etc, but our softball team is literally playing for a national championship! BB, soccer were not.

All of them were competing for the national championship, the difference is how each sport does it's tournament. Both Softball and Soccer were part of the last 8 teams playing, it's just that the WCWS is 8 teams, while the College Cup is just 4. And technically, softball isn't playing for a championship until we reach Monday and are playing in the best of 3 series. So really it's all semantics and how you view the tournaments.
