minus the no experience part, i don't see it as a terrible hire. i was against sherman and the other retreads.

schiano has some energy, and he seems to be a pretty good talent evaluator, especially after seeing their defense do pretty well after moving a bunch of guys around.

his hire would definitely hinge on if he can get a good OC in there. dunno if the glaziers are going to pony up to steal chudzinski away, or maybe get schotty as an OC (probably wouldn't do it).

All I can say is I hope Rutgers doesn't go out and hire a really good coach. Schiano is the poster child of a mediocre coach. He is a rah- rah energy guy that doesn't have a clue otherwise. He was massively overpaid and Rutgers was looking to get rid of him after the 2010 season. The Bucs just did Rutgers a huge favor. Schiano was always a product of his co-ordinators. He would make some fake FG call or go for it on 4th down.....but aside from that....all he did was recruit and made chopping motions on the sideline while acting like a squirrel.

Sherman or Schottenheimer have forgotten more about football than anything Schiano knows. This will be good for USF in the short run....but long term it actually may be very bad for USF.

The Bucs.....it still depends on who is OC and DC are.....but at this point, I would guess he will probably be lucky to win 5 games either season before him and Dominick are fired.

If hired maybe he'll bring in a certain 49er LB Coach to be the DC.

If that were to happen I might change my opinion of the Schiano

I don't like Rutgers or sciano. Glad he is leaving though. It will help USF and hurt their recruiting badly.....

You are aware of how much Schiano made fun of Jim Leavitt and his teams while he was here, right?
