Good I hope they leave... it will give the football members one more vote that they don't have now, and once Houston, SMU, and UCF come on board then the football schools can try and clean house...

Personally from a football perspective the football schools should do everything they can to get rid of tater head, do what the SEC does and appoint a University President to be the Commish of the conference, vs some douche like tater head that is paid to be the commish. kick-out Depaul, Marquette, St. Johns, and Providence... the conference should keep both Nova and Georgetown as long as they commit to leveling up their football programs in 5 years or so.

I also don't see WV or Louisville getting out before we add teams now... hopefully we can add teams... up the exit fee... up the exit fee again... and sign some kind of TV deal that is similar to what the SEC or Big XII has done in respect to that if a team leaves then they don't have broadcasting rights to their own sports for the remainder of the TV contract. Basically the conference has broadcast rights, and retains those rights only as a way to maintain stability.

Why do we care?

Because it would be helpful to the Big East. ND has too much power and influence on a conference in which is doesn't play football in.

ND will never join a conference until they are told that they will not be given a spot in all those bowl games with a certain win count. They have no reason to join a conference and besides they would most likely loose all that TV revenue being on national (non-cable) TV week after week. If anything they should join the Big Ten which would be the best geographic fit for them. Will never happen because they would be luck to pull out 3 conference wins.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
