Does anyone think Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State and Baylor are that sexy? A lot of trash there.

You lock down a state with a population of about 2.8million and gain two strong basketball programs to replace the two strong programs you just lost.  If you look at recent on the field football performance they are a toss up when it comes to quality when compared with Pitt and Cuse.

I know many will not like to hear this....but odds are, when all of this settles.....UCF will probably be brought up to whatever conference USF ends up in.

Besides what they have done on the field.....UCF is USF's clone in almost everyway possible...

Umm I think that's a pretty big besides when you consider the level of competition that these BCS conferences look for. No way will UCF in the next coming years be even close to the caliber football USF is at. I don't see the benefits of bringing a football team in a conference to get their arses kicked each year.

No, but we keep the BCS bid that's all that matters. What do you want the league to do? Sit back and watch?

It all really hedges on the Big 12. Look for the Mountain west to make a serious run at their remnants too.

Houston and UCF aren't going anywhere anytime soon so you can afford to see if you can work out a big 12 merger for a bit before making a commitment to them.  At the very least you wait to see what OU/OSU does before you add anyone.

It probably wouldn't be a Big 12/Big East merger.  It would be more likely that the Big East football schools leave and join the Big 12.  The basketball schools would retain the Big East.

That's kind of my point, you lose Cuse and Pitt who are nothing special and gain KU, KSU, ISU who have the same level of "success" recently in football.  Basketball is a wash.  You do lose when it comes to markets but as far as athletic performance it's a wash.

Marinatto should grow a pair and go after every Big 12 program, with the exception of Texas (since their best situation is with the ACC).

Best case scenario is UT/TT/OKST/ OK stay in Big 12 and then add BYU, Boise State, Cincy, Louisville, and USF

1) Oklahoma

2) Oklahoma State

3) Texas

4) Texas Tech

5) Kansas

6) Kansas State

7) Iowa State

9) Baylor

10) Missouri

11) BYU

12) Boise State

13) USF

14 Cincy

15) Louisville

16) one more

Not a bad conference in my opinion
