FSU is doing the same thing. Many schools do it.No one's bashing USF for playing a cupcake or two. EVERY BCS school plays a cupcake or 2. It's just FSU plays their cupcakes, then they're bringing in the consensus #1 team in the country for the 3rd week. USF has their cupcakes...then they bring in Big East competition and a lousy Miami. So you're calling ND this year a cupcake? Or did you type before you thought? What would you call Ball State and FAMU??Cupcakes, just like La-Monroe and Charleston ... What's your point? I also agree with the other posts in that most schools pick cupcake teams in their schedule.

We needed to schedule 5 OOC games and most teams only need 4. Beginning in 2012 one OOC game will be replaced by a formidable TCU matchup. The point concerning cupcakes was that our fans bash us for scheduling a few tune-ups when virtually every team in the country has a similar scheduling philosophy. USF's opponents averaged #111 and FSU's #101 ... Not a real big difference there in the overall scheme of things ... So what was your point again? Of course, unless someone Quotes this, he won't see it since he appears to have me on his Ignore list.

Sure, we have had a few years where the OOC wasnt very desirable, but this years schedule is nice and balanced. It is just going to get better in the future too.
