USF would not be able to afford three coaches salaries. Plus you have to give him at least three years. Michigan did not fire rich rod after his awful first two seasons. What makes you think USF would do it.
UCF-ENG Posted October 16, 2010 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 65 Reputation: 1 Days Won: 0 Joined: 05/02/2010 Share Posted October 16, 2010 Skip is a good coach, he is trying to rebuild the program right, the way it should have been built in the first place. The Jim took a lot of short cuts and look what happened it ended up catching up with the program. UCF has already been through this, our last coach did the same crap, GOL came in and we went 0-11... We are just now recovery from it, I think you guys will recover much quicker since you are in a BCS conference and Skip is a better coach (IMO), but it is still going to take at least a few years... Win at all cost end up costing eventually...

He should be under some pressure. Same result as last year aka 6th place, he gets a pass.

It is a matter of making a bowl game or not at this point. I think if we do indeed miss out on a bowl game the only thing it does to skip is to possibly shorten his window for showing improvement from 5 years to 3 or 4. Depends how long it takes him to get back to respectibility. Get back into being in a competitive position in the BE by year 3 and he is fine. Languish in a similar situation as we are in now by year 3, with low attendance, no bowl games for 3 years and finish near the bottom of the league for 3 years in a row and he will have major problems in year 4. Holtz will right the ship, just give him time.
