Total speculation on my part, but maybe BJ has a bit of an abrasive personality. I don't see the players rallying around him like they did for Grothe.

Maybe it's the opposite.. BJ seems easy going to me.. He may not be abrasive enough.  Matt didn't have problem with telling a team mate if there was a problem. A sign of a leader and competitor. On a side note, I don't remember seeing any of the 3 receivers, that were wide open, trying to help their QB out by waving or throwing their hands up to get his attention in the game Saturday. Maybe BJ needs to jump them about helping him out. It is a team game after all..

if you didnt already know it, in college football the team goes as the quarterback goes.  in the nfl you can hide a bum like dilfer with a great defense, but in cfb you dont win without great quarterback play

With that said and the fact that we haven't seen Eveld at all with as bad as BJ has played what does that say about Eveld?  People who think plugging in either of those guys will "fix" anything will be in for a eye opening experience if we have to turn to either of those two this season.  BJ is the best horse we have in the barn at the moment.
