I feel like starting Evald over BJ would make a us a worse team right now.

My question would be would Holtz have the balls to change what he is trying to do on offense with trying to make BJ a pocket passer, cut him loose, don't worry about letting him take an injury and just put wins on the board.  Change the offense next year when he has time to bring his kids, that are athletes for his system in place.

Are we going to be patient for 2 or 3 more years until he rebuilds the makeup of the team?  If we have a really crappy year, what happens to recruiting?  What happens to attendance?

If we don't make a bowl game this year we better beat Miami.  There will be little else to keep the fringe fan's interest in this program.

The one thing Leavitt's teams always did, even when we had the losing year in 2004 was do something exciting to make the fans believe.  Hard for anyone to believe we are moving forward right now.

How?  3 points offensively?  Can't get much worse!

In my opinion, it's time to go to Gunsby. He's the QB of the future. I don't see Eveld being our guy over the next 3-4 years, so, if we're going to burn a year getting a rookie ready to lead this team, let's do it with the better player.

I would give Eveld a shot to prove himself first. If he can't show some positive stuff over BJ in 2 games then turn to Gunsby. He did really well in Fall camp, hopefully he can translate that to the field.

Gunsby is behind a freshman walk-on.  I would hold off on calling him the future.

He's behind Eveld because you don't burn a year of eligibility on a guy with decent potential just so he can be a backup all season. I'm not against Eveld, but, we're not a team that can win with an immobile QB. I haven't seen enough of Eveld to know, but if he can read a blitz, he wouldn't have been sacked as much as BJ. BJ gets sacked because he either doesn't see the blitz, or, he holds the ball for too long.
