Until next season, the Marlins have 1 more year at Sunlife.

And the stadium will only be called Sunlife for one year.

More like canes did not have much of a choice...the city had already wasted their $ on making the lighting safe in the OB and was not going to spend any more on trying to renovate something that was not worth it. Dolphins (own the stadium) are very accommodating to the canes. Very nice displays in the club areas for them unlike the all-bucs that we have in ours and TSA owns it.

You're missing my point... which was that at the time that UM agreed to move to "It's had 300 names"  stadium, it was already a pretty well known fact that the Marlins wouldn't be there much longer... either the stadium would be built in Miami or they were moving... It wasn't a long term situation.

I'll stand by my original statement.... a Div 1 BCS school will not play in a dual use stadium for an extended period of time. Logistically it makes no sense.

Looks like the student used an image from the Old Sombrero

The Old Sombrero was almost round from the air.

yeah I don't even think that's to scale... those parking garages are not that big... the scale is way off.

How about the property north of campus, between the golf course and the river? I know the snakes, ants and lizards will be pissed, but screw'em. Snakes aren't awesome at all, ants aren't too far behind, and the lizards....ehh, they are just lizards.

Surely there are a few academic buildings we don't need

Why not abandond conventional thinking and build a MASSIVE parking garage structure in the middle of campus somewhere that would accomodate day to day student and faculty parking. ON TOP OF THAT PARKING STRUCTURE build the stadium.  State money could be used to build the lower infrastructure (electric water etc., including much of the ADA stuff (elevators). The stadium itself would be incredibly high in the air and seen for miles.

I was in the eng building last week to watch a friend defend his doctorate dissertation and saw this

I could not figure out where on campus it was but figured you guys could whine about the color of the helmets we will wear there

Doesn't remind me of the Sombrero, looks more like the Cowboys stadium with KC's ramps...
