BTW, for those of you who are not aware, USF has a solidly ranked school of Journalism.

USF does not have a school of journalism. It has a mass communications department that is part of the college of arts and sciences, and while it's not terrible, it's not particularly noteworthy. The degrees aren't even called journalism degrees, they are "mass communications - news editorial." I should know, I have one.

I worked with Adam Adkins at The Oracle while we were both students. He's a good reporter. Don't expect the fact that he's a USF grad to make a bit of difference in his reporting. I think many of you are misguided in thinking that it makes a big difference.

The Poynter Institute in St Pete, which was established with help from the Times, is nationally recognized and has turned out some great Journalism grads over time.

Poynter owns the St. Pete Times, and it has nothing to do with USF.

I started out as a as a correspondent while I was a student at USF (2003 graduate),

The Sheriff ought to be crying tears of joy. Where is he?

12:40 on Friday... I think it's safe to say that he's already in a Gainesville jail cell.

:D

Has anyone sent him an email and told him to join here

I just emailed him, congratulated him and invited him to join the bullspen.

He emailed me back and indicated he'll be joining the Bullspen as soon as he can. His daughters were born this morning. Looking forward to having him join here on occasion.
