Florida is still on another level. We will have to be at our best even if they are at their worst.

You make them sound like an SEC All-Star team.  Yes they have very good players but it isn't like USF has a bunch of High School players either.  We will be fine.

Yeah he's a great coach, he's only saying this because he thinks it's what his players need to hear. There's a greater chance of a USF upset this year, with Tebow and a list of other great players gone, but it's not that much greater. Florida will still be really, really good.

They're ranked No. 3, for crying out loud.

Preseason rankings don't mean squat.  #3 is extremely high for a team with as many unproven players as UF.  Not to mention they automatically move up 10 spots in the rankings because they're almighty "Florida."

I'm not crowning the Gators or anything, I agree that preseason rankings are useless. But clearly there is plenty of talent returning for this "down year" stuff to be nonsense. Sure they'll miss Tebow, but beating UF is still a tall order. Nobody else USF has faced save for maybe Oklahoma has been at the Gators' level.

Disagreed. In regards to overall team quality, I think you could equate Miami last year to UF this year. And yeah, that means Miami is really gonna stick it to us this year. Though I hope for the opposite.

Penn State was pretty good in the year we played them

That's true, I always forget about that game.

Denson put us in an early hole in that game. USF actually outplayed PSU for most of that game, but we never could overcome in the early mistakes. That really is the key at UF, just like it was at FSU last year. We need to strike first and quiet the crowd.

Oh and btw for anyone who goes to the UF game, if we win my dad (UF guy) has to buy me and my friends drinks all night. I never specified how many friends that would be  ::)

Haha, as long as I don't have to buy should USF lose, let's be friends! :)

Yeah teams that like to pound the ball like Pitt, Rutgers.... usually own us.

Teams like UF that play the spread we do much better against, not say we win but I think

its a close game if our offense can move the ball and not go three and out all game.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
