This means that the Big East is planning on adding Memphis to replace one of the raided teams... the University of Memphis and the City of Memphis owns this bowl and they have been dangling it in front of the Big East for years in the hopes of getting an invite card.

I agree, Mike T. was a consultant for Memphis to get them in a BCS conference. What a shock, the Liberty Bowl is part of the BE bowls. I'm for Memphis joining the conference. I've heard the Liberty needs some renovation like stadium in B'ham.

Delta has 3 non-stops per day between Tampa and Memphis, thanks to their merger with Northwest, so it will be a easy flight there.

Too bad we'll usually be in the BCS game and not be able to enjoy Beale Street that often.  ;)

Wait, I thought everyone claimed that the BE had to invite Memphis to get the Liberty Bowl?  I guess this means otherwise.

Or it may mean that Memphis is going to jump to the top of the list if Big East expansion occurs.

Not a fan of the Bums of Beale; Rendevous is worth the trip alone; they have really cleaned up Memhis around Beale and Germantown is still decent if you don't want to stay downtown-the stadium is closer to Germantown anyway
