Triple B your right I forgot about Culpepper but to me Asante Samuel was more of the guy where people would say where did this guy come from. Culpepper was amazing in college and people knew who he was.

But again it goes back to most NFL players aren't really associated with their respective schools EXCEPT for the U. They are very proud of that and you can tell on Monday night football when they all say Da U. Also Dumb U or better known as Ohio State(which I hate more than any other school) and they say THE Ohio state university.

But we can't forget the people that got us to where we are now and still are showing the school some love. If it's between Selvie and JPP, that is easy if you went to USF, but I feel Marquel and JR did more for the program and still are! And GROTHE put us in everyone's household not Selvie or any other player. So he deserves some thought as well.

I still don't think any of our players drafted this year will do anything in the NFL except Murphy if he is taught the right way to play. Selvie you always have to give the benefit of the doubt but he isn't in the best situation with his NFL team. I think Kion might be the real gem and he wasn't drafted but I wonder if that had to do with his agent saying he wouldn't play for certain teams when it got into the 7th round. I'd rather be a FA and pick the right situation like he did.

I don't know if anybody posted this, but Rivals has an "ALL-UNDRAFTED TEAM FOR 2010" and Kion is on the  "ALL-UNDRAFTED TEAM DEFENSE".

This isn't close. Selvie for sure. He helped the team to our first ever top 2 rating in the nation. JPP was a flash in the pan. Selvie will forever be remembered as an all time USF great no matter how good or bad he does in the NFL.

I disagree.  JPP was the highest draft pick ever for usf, so until somebody goes higher than him he will always be talked about.  The only way selvie gets remembered is if he has a great nfl career.  In two years the incoming freshman class won't remember a 7th round DE that didn't live up to his potential over the highest draft pick in team history.

I just hope JPP Reps USF hard during pre game intros and interviews unlike some NFL players which just rep their home towns rather than their Universities.

I think Selvie will be remembered more in USF fan lore for those that watched him play since he was a big factor in some of our biggest early wins.  JPP was huge in the FSU game but other than that he really didn't give us much in our big games this past season.  JPP as long as he reps USF hard and reaches his full potential should be more memorable to newer fans and outside observers.

Selvie.  Look no further than The Play against UCF in 2007 where he exploded through the line to bat the ball before it even got into Kevin Smith's hands.

Yep! Selvie seemed to be at his best against bush league teams.

Selvie, the only thing JPP brought was a draft number, and who really remembers those.

The only way JPP will be remembered or reconized for anything USF is, if he makes it to the HOF

no brainer.

Selvie.

2 time consensus all american.

4 solid if not spectacular years.

JPP was in Tampa for maybe 6 months. It's almost a joke to even say he is from USF.

Did the guy even complete a semesters worth of classes? He had longer stays at his 2 JUCOs.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
