Very impressive with the opportunities he was given. The plays he made are what we will need to see Lamar do this upcoming season.

?? if he is making the plays why not let him make them instead of Lamar?

Lamar will not gain 10 lbs of muscle while maintaining his speed with this S&C staff. See Selvie, George.

That's a generalized statement.  The S&C has done fine bulking up players and maintained, if not increasing, speed for tons of players.  George was just one of those rare situations that once he added that 20lbs he never quite kept the explosiveness, or quickness out of the snap.  I don't fault them for that at all, some of the issue has to do with how George did his bulking up-- and this goes back to us needing the dining facility.

Great point. My understanding is that George consumed a lot of unhealthy food to obtain some weight gain. Isn't the dining facility going to be incorporated into the additions going on the Sundome and the Campus Recreation Building?

Agreed BP, but how can anyone diss our S&C staff?....uhh, Coach McKeefry won a national award for strength and conditioning. Plus he's transformed a ton of guys into physical beasts....Luke Sager is probably 260 lbs right now and he came in at 235-240 lbs. Dontavia Bogan, Carlton Mitchell, Ryne Giddens, JuJu Forte, Demi Thompson, Mo Plancher, Bradley Battles, Jerome Murphy, Nate Allen....and a lot more are all guys who have seen big gains in strength and size under Coach Keef

Yup, people here also always underestimate the importance of diet to what kind of physical gains you get from your training.  The fact that Keef has done what he has without being able to control the players diets is pretty impressive if you ask me.  Just like with cars the higher grade fuel will always give you better performance when all things are equal.  The fact that people were only 1/2 joking about Selvies "Honey Bun diet" should tell you all you need to know about his situation.  Also reoccurring ankle injuries can be a HUGE blow to a players performance, it's often times better to just break an ankle than to get a high ankle sprain because of lingering effects.
