Just like its interesting that the nfl made the no low contact on the qb after Brady, one of their top money makers got hurt. Or the fact that the OT rule got changed the year that Favre got ousted without having a chance to touch the ball. Huge corporations to what they can to protect theirs. The NFL openly admits its a business and protects it's stars and has a history of doing so, the NCAA has a history of squashing individualism when it starts to get media attention. ESPN and other major outlets did stories on eyeblack messages this year and jokes were even widespread about being eye black whisperers and what not, there was also concern that the area codes could be seen as gang related messages. To say this has anything to do with Tebow shows 9/11 truther and birther reasoning skills.

Tebow's a great kid, but the love affair that CBS in general and Gary Danielson specifically was sickening. Danielson had to go to the hospital every time he called a uf game, his tebowner lasted for more than 4 hours. That is true but this topic has nothing to do with him and yet here come people trying to drag him into it. The fact is the NCAA crushes anything that players use to give themselves individuality between the lines on game day. Tebow derangement syndrome is alive in well in this thread. I don't know how many on here remember when Brian Bosworth wore a shirt on the sideline that said "National Communists Against Athletes". Horrible spokesman right message. Guest nybullsfan
The ban doesn't bother me. Football's a team game. Too much focus on individual players destroys team morale. Don't showboat, act like you've been there before. And for god's sake, don't parade your religion out there in front of god and everybody (relax, it was a JOKE!) >

Let the kids express themselves and have some fun. The only thing worst than this rule is the new rules on excessive celebration during a Touchdown. Pointing to the Heavens after a TD is going to get you a 15 yard celebration penalty?? With the exception of Pryor that one time, was there anything else on eye blacks beside scripture or area codes? While it may sound preposterous, you may not be to far off base. I would give up on college athletics if such a tact was taken by the NCAA. But you know Universities, and the liberal University system...they've always hated public displays of religion or affection. Sad! :'(

If the University "System" is so Liberal, then how did you make it through without being indoctrinated to the "Dark" side? Get over yourself, you CONservatives tell everyone else to be responsible for their own actions, UNTIL it comes to you, then it's "insert Government entity here" fault that I can't....... Besides, pointing to the sky can be paying respect to the sun or moon god, or to a fallen loved one, or to the USAF.....kneeling can be giving praise to Mother Earth for providing the ground, or grass that you are playing on......
