We won 87 games with a ton of young, inexperienced, but talented players things are looking up no matter how you try to spin it.  Like i said im not gunna go out and say we will win the world series or even division but we should be competing for the wild card which with a payroll like ours is a feat in and of itself.  Also take a look around the majors at all the stars we bred until they became to expensive to keep, our front office is amazing and regularly ***** teams in trades.   

how is that any different from the rays?

except we didnt have an owner go out and buy a title like you did in 1997.

the marlins have been around longer...and most of those guys came from all the picks the marlins had after their firesale in 1998. 

after their owner bought a title.

and i wouldnt say the rays have a substantially larger payroll.

they have a bigger payroll but by what?  10 million?

and that is with giving that bum Burrell 8-10 million.

i not knocking the marlins but save your spot on your high horse for something a little bit better.

Sheff, Renteria, Derek Lee, Lowell were all very productive when they left and afterwards 

Also the Rays Payroll was over 30mil more than the marlins last season (quick google couldn't find the 2010 numbers)
