Where did I say the Rays are getting the shaft every year?

You are right the Rays have only been good the last two years, but when the Yankees and Red Sox have the money to spend at will and improve beyond what most teams can before and during a season it creates an imbalance.  So the wildcard team will usually end up being one of them.  So all the other teams that don't win their division are at a disadvantage.

Funny. The Marlins don't seem to have the same problem with having to pay big bucks to get good talent. Maybe the Rays have a generally deficient farm system, or maybe Larry Beinfest is a genius.

The Marlins pay...didn't MLB have to sanction the owner to increase their payroll

and yet we still won 87 games last year, which was the posters point. We win without spending big bucks because we have the best front office in baseball.

No that means you have some of the best coaching to turn talent into wins...a top front office would help supplement some other quality players and verterans around your talent to get you in the playoffs instead of balancing around .500 the last 6-7 years.  You have only made the playoffs once in the last 10 years.

I'll give you that your team has done some very good things and the Rays are following a similar model that has been working for you.  The switch in the owner, our front office and our coaching is doing the same, hopefully we will be able to do more then what your team is doing.

Most of our players are drafted by the Fish or acquired in trades by our GM. With the resources that Beinfest is given the product he puts on the field is amazing. And BTW our Manager sucks.

tampa has a good team

they have a nice little 3rd place team

But seem to be able to handle the marlins easily

How many World Series Titles do the 'Rays have again?

Are you serious?  Is that all you people can ever say?  Winning the world series in 2003 does not equate to winning games in 2010.

Yeah but the marlins didn't have terrible personnel running the team its first 8 years of existance like the rays did.  and the marlins play in the NL east, which, until a few years ago had one good team - the braves.

We won 87 games with a ton of young, inexperienced, but talented players things are looking up no matter how you try to spin it.  Like i said im not gunna go out and say we will win the world series or even division but we should be competing for the wild card which with a payroll like ours is a feat in and of itself.  Also take a look around the majors at all the stars we bred until they became to expensive to keep, our front office is amazing and regularly ***** teams in trades.
