Looks like JPP could have used one more year with a DI weightlifting program

the long arm thing is true to some extent but 19 is a low number. Popek the 6'7" lineman for the bulls blew through 30 reps but he probably spends more time in the weightroom

popek is also 305lbs.

Could JPP benefited from having another year with a good weightlifting coach? probably. would it have been a benefit for him to actually do it and take the chance of getting hurt, having an off year, or losing his speed? probably not.

kid had to take a tough route to play D1 and he made the best of his 1 year here. i'd say for everything he's done he's in the best position he could possibly be in.

Guys, he's a speed rusher.  A little more power certainly would help him, but I wouldn't be too concerned.  He could have also had a bad lift.  Unfortunately, they don't get a second chance.  He's almost assured a top 10 pick and maybe a top 5.

Im betting it had a lot to do with long arms, and long arms for pushing lineman out of your way are needed!

He can always do more reps in the weight room as his career continues, but you can only be a top 10 pick once.

JPP is a first round draft pick. Carlton Mitchell would have been better serve to get one more year. He gave away a lots of money by coming out early. JPP can develop strength in the NFL. Jason will grow to about 280-290 in a few years. And as for comparing him to the late G. Adams. He was a soft player who was scared of contact. I JPP is a different type of player. I wish him and the other players luck.

I don't think JPP is another adams but if you look at his combine stats they are very similar and adams had better stats while at clemson.

JPP is built differently then Gaines. JPP has a bigger lower base. I don't know what he squats. But he looks pretty strong in the legs and hind quarter.

If JPP ran a 4.64 how come he's not in the top performers for the combine?

http://www.nfl.com/combine/top-performers

He should be tied for #1 but he's not listed as a top performer in anything. Was that actually his official time?

I haven't seen his official time listed. I was wondering the same thing.
