Supposedly, his official time was 4.67:

A Final Look at Jason Pierre-Paul's Peformance at the NFL Combine

The USF Stampede on the NFL Draft

TAMPA -- Jason Pierre-Paul came out and ran his first 40-yard dash on Monday morning, and the experts had already seen all they needed.

After posting an unoffical time of 4.64 (later changed to an official 4.67), NFL Network draft expert Mike Mayock said, "Pierre-Paul's time solidifies him as a top-10 pick."

NFL Network host Rich Eisen chimed in with, "The legend continues."

The former Bull and Deerfield Beach native also posted 19 reps of 225 pounds on the bench, which is an area many feel he needs to improve, but conversation on JPP always returned to his 40-yard dash time and the athleticism he displayed in positional drills.

All signs point toward Pierre-Paul being a top-10 pick and the chatter about the Tampa Bay Bucanners drafting the USF alum will likely heat up for the next seven weeks leading up to the NFL Draft on April 22.

Perhaps the best wrap up of Pierre-Paul's day come from ESPN.com Draft expert Todd McShay, who wrote on his blog:

"Our two top-rated defensive ends -- Pierre-Paul and (Derrick) Morgan -- delivered strong showings on Monday, as well.

"Pierre-Paul measured just shy of 6-5 and at 270 pounds was a little heavier than we expected. That's a good thing, though, because there are some concerns about his ability to hold up against the run. He also has the kind of length that makes scouts salivate with 34¾ arms and 10⅜ hands.

"What makes Pierre-Paul so special, though, is his best-in-class quickness. He ran a 4.67 and moved very well for his size, the kind of tools that give him the potential to be a dominant pass rusher at the next level. His bench press was only 19 reps, and he needs to develop his upper-body strength, but Pierre-Paul has a very high ceiling."

Do Bulls fans think that Pierre-Paul will be the highest NFL Draft pick in program history? Currently, that distinction goes to All-Pro corner Mike Jenkins, who was taken by the Cowboys in the first round with the 25th pick in 2008.

If his official time was 4.67 he should be the 4th best performer yet he's unlisted.

Well, it won't be the first time that site screwed up. Do they still have Carlton Mitchell weighing 296 pounds?  ;)  ;D

That's funny stuff, but I'd like for them to get stats correct at least.

If I tell my friends how great JPP did they look at the NFL site and say "oh nooozzzz u r lying!!!" (Apparently my friends are all Jerome Murphy.)

If it really bothers you, try e-mailing them and provide the link to the USF article, which says his official time is 4.67, which would place him among the top performers.

JPP did what he had to do for himself and his family. One would have to assume that his decision was made based off of being told that he was projected to be a 1st round pick. Would have loved to see him back but all he had to do was look down the line to see how quickly your draft stock can plummet in a year or two (and I am not trying to take a shot a Selvie, just speaking the truth).

We can say all we want about where we think he should be drafted, but the "experts" have thrust him into the Top 10 and if there is a team that grades him as such they will draft him.

Also, this was his one chance at a big payday. If a new CBA isn't reached and there is an NFL lockout for 2011 then he is really stuck in a bad spot because once a new CBA is reached there is probably going to be a big change in how rookies contracts are paid and it wouldn't be a positive for him.

Let's just be glad for the press this is bringing USF and hope upon hope that he makes an impact and isn't another Vernon Gholston.

long arms = low reps

that is all

Yep, that's pretty much true.

Clebert did 43 reps, but had very short arms. That's probably why he wasn't drafted.

Nah the arms aren't the problem JPP will be fine once he gets some extended time in a good S&C program.  He's never even had a full off season in a Div1 S&C program let alone a NFL one with unlimited time and resources to make sure he gets the most out of his strength training.  NFL offensive tackles don't have a problem with their bench press and most of them are big long armed guys.  This is just another area where JPP Is very "raw" but again his ceiling here is unlimited.

Yes but Frank Davis strong as a ox with long arms (not as long as JPP) did 36
