3 starters hurt in 3 days. This should help our chances. Hopefully Mac gets them fired up for this one.

They just beat #20 Notre Dame.

All 3 of them played against ND. Horton was their leading scorer (hit the game winner) and Brown was their leading rebounder (and 3rd leading scorer). If we can contain their guard Harris then I think we may have a shot. Mac should be familiar with these guys.

This is gonna be a tough game... if we don't rebound well, it'll be a long day.  I hope their effort improves, especially defensively on the glass.

Michigan looked like a very legitimate team against ND. They should have no problem making the big dance in March. An upset road win would be huge for our team's confidence. Good luck to Coach RMC and our basketbulls!

They looked legit against ND, but they didn't look very good against Providence (although providence is a very good team), and they were destroyed by the yellow jackets.

We can win this game, but we have to play one of our best games.  29% from the floor just isn't gonna cut it.

Per Sagarin today, Michigan would be favored by 10 points.

We will have a little more depth with Capko:

SPELL RELIEF: Point guard Brian Swift has played a team-high 35 minutes a game in USF's 5-3 start, but the Bulls will get help at the point Saturday at Michigan when Chris Capko , a walk-on transfer from Florida, becomes eligible to play.

"I'd like to get in a situation where we can keep Brian's minutes around 32 a game," coach Robert McCullum said. "If we can do that, that would be more effective. We just need a few minutes here and there, and we'll have (Capko) and Marius ( Prekevicius ) helping out."

Capko, who played sparingly at Florida, has been a regular at practice, much like Melvin Buckley , who is sitting out this season after transferring from Purdue. His debut is well-timed, as Swift had to play all 40 minutes in USF's loss to Mississippi Valley State because Prekevicius had aggravated a broken nose sustained in preseason and had trouble seeing the court while wearing a protective facemask.

Swift, who is third in Conference USA with 5.3 assists per game, has come out shooting as well, averaging 16.6 points. Only three C-USA players have made more three-pointers than Swift, who is connecting at a 44 percent rate from beyond the arc.

Senior forward Terrence Leather is fifth in scoring at 17.7 points per game and fourth in rebounding (9.1), and junior center Solomon Jones , following in Gerrick Morris ' footsteps, is second in C-USA in blocked shots, averaging 3.1.

Help our chances?  Right!!!  That is like saying having a hair dryer will help your chances of not freezing to death while standing on top of mount everest during a blizzard with shorts and a tshirt on.

We were losing to DII Grand Canyon U.  Thay are a school of 4,000 students.  We barely beat them, and you expect just because Mich has 3 players injured we have a better chance of winning at their arena.  They would beat us even if they only had 5 reserve players available.    We have a long way to go before we can even compete with the upper 2/3's of the 320 or so D-1 schools.
