They ran a spread offense as well at ecu and had a mobile qb. We wont see a school in florida not have a qb that can run. Florida doesnt even play traditional football anymore. USF will always have a mobile qb. I don't know, maybe from the fact that their QB (Pat Pinkney) had a grand total of 48 carries for the entire season (14 games). He had 440 pass attempts. http://www.ecupirates.com/sports/m-footbl/stats/2009-2010/teamcume.html#TEAM.IND BJ had 175 carries in 13 games, and 227 pass attempts. http://www.gousfbulls.com//pdf4/664871.pdf?SPSID=37332&SPID=2981&DB_OEM_ID=7700 They may have called their offense a "spread" at ECU, but the stats sure don't say that. It sure seems to me that ECU ran a more pro style offense. spread attack doesn't necessarily mean that the QB runs. Bingo get that man a medal. The other thing is skip rotates RB's too. And he spreads WR's too going 3 and 4 wide. : I think Skip might find it refreshing, like his early years at ECU, to have a QB that can run. Pinkney was a stick in the mud his final 2 years with all those injuries. The staff would beg him to run.

I can't listen at work, but it would be interesting to hear what he had to say...USFFanListened to it online ... Coach likes to ramble .... Didn't seem that upset with USF any more, citing communication problems as to the way the thing was handled .... the guys asked him directly if the thing with us hadn't happened and we had a schollie for Brion, would he be here ... without coming and just saying no, his response left little doubt that the odds were he wasn't going to be. I don't know how old either of you are, but an offense that goes 4 or 5 wide and the QB doesn't run that often is called "The run and shoot" and it was "invented" MANY years ago by Tiger Ellison, Middletown Ohio. Michigan, WVU, USF, all run "The Spread" the QB's for all 3 were at least in the top 2 in # of carries. Colt McCoy at Texas lead UT in carries. Tebow lead UF in carries. Pryor lead Ohio State in carries. So, you can give that man a medal but it better be bronze at best. I know that there are teams that "run the spread" that the QB doesn't lead the team in carries, but a quick internet search says that at least a few prominent teams running the spread has their QB as the leading rusher in terms of carries.
