Actually, if you look at length of service and number of total punts, Alvarado is in the mix pretty nicely.  Around 3rd.

Some of those guys with long punts didn't punt much.  Some of those wild stats were from short term guys against crappy opponents.  When they don't field the punts, they tend to bounce an extra 10 - 15 yards or so.

BE competition includes guys who won't wave off a punt, and will at minimum fair catch it to cut down on distance.

I think you have to look at the stats but put them through a reality filter.

I wish Petrov would've worked out.  That kid had a great leg, at least from what I remember in the Spring Games.

Didn'the mess up the punt vs. UCF 2006 that was returned for a TD?

I believe that was Alvarado. Petrov muffed in the end zone I believe

Alvarado was also the one that kicked that flat punt, over-kicking the coverage, that led to the TD by Louisville in 2009.  This led to the infamous slap heard round the world.  Therefore, Delbert should have gotten the brunt of the disdane and not the coverage guys since he kicked it on a rope. There might have been a second and a half of hang time  :o
