So does anybody actually know the reason behind the number change? Did taking the extra number off his jersey help him hold onto the ball?

I think his new number, 4, represents his carries per game

Our offense is horrible for Ford. I swear, we will run 130lb Lamar up the gut 3 times per game, but when Ford gets on the field, we call outside running plays.

This kid needs carries to get in a groove. It amazes me how quickly people forget about him icing the game in Tallahassee. Or the go-ahead TD drive last year where Ford took the football and shoved it up Pitt's ass for about 45-50 yards and opened up a big passing play for MG. Or the 12 TDs his freshman year when he was clearly out of shape.

There is more to this story, but I still have no doubt that Ford and Taylor are our most talented backs. Ford looked like he was going ape **** on the sidelines on 1st and goal from the 2...and second and goal from the 2 and a half. I don't blame him.

Ford also had some sort of arm band or tape around his upper arm with some initials on it.. so, maybe it was a tribute.

As far at Ford's playing time -- we all know that Leavitt likes players who practice hard.  Does anyone on here know what Ford's work ethic is?  Find that out and you may have your answer.

Well he wore #34 in High School. Maybe the 4 has something to do with rhyming with Ford? The question is what happened to the previous #4? On offense that was Redshirt Freshman WR Daniel Bryant. On defense #4 is Sophomore CB Tyson Butler.

Assumming it's the coaches fault that he hasn't developed more.  Same as it's a teacher's fault when a kid gets a bad grade..   I think this is a situation more of the individual's personal responsibility, maybe not the coaches... now, I could be wrong, it could be the coaches, but it always seems like the coach gets blamed and the player never does.

I'm sure BJ has never been told to throw the ball out of bounds instead of taking a loss of yards either.

where are all mike ford supporters?

Lost cause.  The guy barely sees the field.  I am not sure the "he is only a power back" excuse applies when you don't even put him in a goal line scenario.  Unless he is hurt again Zzz...

None of this matters because the offense is hit or miss and is depending solely on whether or not BJ can get out of the pocket and be our rushing offense.

What good are those three yards if he drops the ball at the end of it?
