  1. So, they are saying that it is safer for the team and coaches to stay in Florida? I was under the impression that they'd ride the storm out in a hotel in CT. I guess the coaches want to be with their families. Too bad they couldn't just bring their families to CT.
  2. Rex could've used a senior year to develop his accuracy.
  3. We've known about Kean for a long time, so the flashiest position, QB, was already in place. We didn't need any RBs, so our recruiting was to fill a lot of needed positions that aren't very glamorous, such at O-Line, WR, DBs, etc.. I'm happy with this. Hopefully Kean comes in and can be a really nice QB, or they can put an offense in place where our current QBs can succeed.
  4. My opinion of this year's recruiting class, and please correct me if I'm wrong. This year it appears as though we recruited a lot of positions of need. O-line, WRs, DBs, etc. This year's class just isn't as sexy as, say, last years, because we didn't need a stud RB, and the QB that we signed is a QB that we've known about for over a year now. So we just added depth and positions of need. Does that make sense?
  5. Thank you! Of all of the topics that get brought up on this board, there is nothing wrong with discussing the whereabouts of a former coach or player.
  6. Harbaugh will be the HC at Michigan. Do you think he will bring CJL with him? He's currently the LB's coach at the 49ers.
  7. What team are you watching. White is accurate? When in warm ups or you watching replays of Pat White from WVU? He has been very accurate. It is not his fault when the ball hits WRs in the hands and they drop it.
  8. What is complicated about the offense? I swear I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard someone say it is complicated. WHAT IS COMPLICATED? If it is the pre-snap shifting, then remove it from the playbook because all it does is wastes time. Defenses are reading the play for how we line up after the shift. I will say 2 things. 1. White has been accurate this season. 2. If Flowers is a 4 star WR, and since his redshirt is already burned, then I say let him get some reps at WR... he'd still be learning the offense that way and he'd see the field more.
  9. Just a small statement about the Jim Leavitt topic... If Leavitt had been charged with a crime, he probably wouldn't have tampered with the witness. But, we are talking about witness tampering at a place of employment, not criminal witness tampering. I wasn't inside of that locker room, but I will say that I'm really proud of what Jim has done as LB coach at the 49rs. He is passionate about football and is great at what he does. He is missed here. I recently saw a post on here with a photo of Leavitt and 2 former players. What do they say? A picture is worth a thousand words? NOW, that said.. could someone please message me a link for the Hope Solo photos? :-)
  10. So, Coach T is a good head coach because he is recruiting well. Perhaps we need an Offensive Cooridator? Let Coach T be the face of the program and go sit in living rooms and convince kids to play here and let someone else design the plays. Ever since he's come here, I've heard nothing but how complicated his offense is to learn. Why? Does anyone actually know what is complicated about it? Please speak up if you know this. If it is the pre-snap shifts that are complicated, then scrap those because they do nothing anyway.
  11. There was one play, I'm pretty sure it was the 4th quarter, where it was 3rd and and less than 5 yards (I believe 4 yards... and it may have been 4th down). The announcers showed the replay from where our DB lined up 7 yards off and ran downfield. The WR ran about 6 yards and turned around. Easy catch, easy 8 yards, 1st down. Now, on that pay. 1 of 2 things happened. 1. They were in a zone defense and the CB had a deep zone and somone forgot to come over and cover the short zone. Or 2. Our d-coordinator is terrible. Absolutely terrible.
  12. I found it funny that on our last drive before halftime (before White fumbled), the announcers pointed out that USF was able to get all of those underneath passes because Cinci was playing back. I was like -- That is how we play all the time!
  13. To continue on with my point.... In Cinci's 1st series, we gave up 2 underneath passes for about 7 yards each, had very good coverage on the deep pass that happened to be pass interference, and then we gave up a 3rd underneath pass whereas the WR broke free and took it 38 yards for a TD. Waiting for Cinci's 2nd drive so I can see how many more "dink and dunk" passes we give up.
  14. Thank you all for commenting on this. I'm glad that I wasn't the only one seeing this.
  15. If White could look off a receiver, he would be so much better. I really like how accurate he has been though.
  16. I am so tired of our defense playing such a soft zone! If you want 5 yards against us on 1st down, just throw it. 3rd and 12? It should be open for the first 10 yards. Our pass defense is terrible. Not the players, the play calling. Do ever bump and run? Or do we just sit back and let them throw the ball in front of us? Geez I'm tired of giving up 1st downs. Its like we just sit back and hope the other team makes a mistake in front of us.
  17. They will play in RayJay, it just won't be us = Outback Bowl
  18. Lack of attendance? The top 4 rows of the 2nd level were packed during our game against UCONN. You could barely find a seat in that area that was kept dry from the 3rd level overhang.
  19. I agree with the majority of the opinions on this board. No one is saying that ECU is better than Wisconsin. We are talking about match ups. We have a better run defense than pass defense, therefore we matchup better against a run-oriented team, than we do against a pass-oriented team. NC State is a pass oriented team. Our defense didn't match up very well against them. Heck, remember the game against Western Carolina (I watched it on espn3). The announcers couldn't stop singing praise about how great their QB was, oh, and he threw for 374 yards on us. You wanna know how many passing yards he has had since? 142 against Brevard (is that a high school?), 222 agaisnt Catawba, and 182 against Furman. We aren't doing well against the pass. Period. Bresnahan needs to come up with something to stop the pass attack.
  20. If the "Illegal Forward Propulsion" call hadn't been called, then the Tampa Bay Bucs wouldn't have had the pleasure of being coached by Shiano. LOL
  21. How can anyone complain about White's completion percentage with all of the dropped balls that the WRs have had. USFGrad84, you are making your assumptions about White 100% off of that one stat that was given to you by a TV announcer. Did you sit in the rain and watch White's performance about UCONN? Wet ball and every one of his passes were perfectly thrown. Pay attention to how well this kid is doing and you too will see why his is our QB. Today, White scrambled from one side of the field all the way to the other, and still there were no WRs open. So, White threw the ball away. I guess you'd count that as an inaccurate pass. White will grow up with this team and will be fine. How many Seniors started today?
  22. Can someone please tell me what is so complicated to learn about our offense? Also, I'd like to hear more about how Flowers looks in practice.
  23. How do we know that Flowers isn't the next Grothe/BJ? Athletic qb that can make some plays with his feet, extend the play and find a WR downfield? Spread out the d-line, take off and run if there is nothing open downfield? That is exactly what BJ and Grothe did. CWT states that the offense is hard to learn, so White and Bench had a leg up on Floweres this year because they've been in the system for a year.
